Congresbury Tennis Club has a major objective of providing facilities for and encouraging juniors of all ages and ability to play recreational and competitive tennis. Value for money coaching and adult supervision will be provided as fully as possibe.

The new 2007 term starts on September 11th for Tuesday and 8th September for Saturday. Need to ring Claire Love-Jones on 01934 838472 to book a place.
Junior tennis lessons start again at Congresbury
Following on from Congresbury tennis clubs continued success in adult league and social tennis it is great to see the junior members coming up too. Congresbury tennis clubs weekly 'mini tennis' lessons start again on September 11th 2007. The idea of these lessons is to cater for different age ranges giving all juniors the chance to play tennis and learn from the LTA club coach Matt Rogers whilst having fun with friends and other juniors of the same age. There are two time slots each Tuesday as follows: RED is 3:40pm - 4:40pm and is for reception age up to approximately 6yrs, ORANGE is 4:40pm - 5:40pm and is for 7 - 9 yrs.
Club Treasurer Phil Jones joined Congresbury as a junior himself over ten years ago and now plays in the mens 'A' team. Phil said "Junior tennis has always been a priority at Congresbury and it is great to see this tradition continue at the club, it is fantastic to see children of all ages on the court enjoying themselves whilst learning to play some good tennis from an experienced LTA coach"

Junior members can also play on Saturday afternoons (adult & junior 'open play'), Junior League matches and various special events will be organised for this term. Teenage members are actively encouraged to participate in the running of the club and its decision making through representation on the club's main committee and a junior sub-committee.
Junior members of high playing standard are invited to attend adult club session and events in addition to playing in the junior county leagues and inter-club friendly matches. The club will continue to nominate talented junior members for the district and county sifts.
In order to comply with Government and LTA legislation, a Child Protection Officer is available should a child or their parent/guardian have any concerns. A copy of the CHild Protection Policy is available in the pavilion or from the CPO Wendy Griggs.
We offer a special membership category for parents/guardians supporting junior members costing just £15, which entitles the parents/guardian to play with a junior member(s).
